Scott Burton knows just what it means to break down self-limiting beliefs and turn them into success as a corporate entertainer, endurance athlete and motivational speaker. It did not take long for him to realize that much of his thought process to prepare for an endurance ultra-marathon is also what goes into the making of a successful business.
Scott is not your typical corporate presenter. Scott, in his powerful keynote address, Empowering Ourselves, is hilariously funny. He uses his many talents and experiences to present a unique presentation to organizations and businesses throughout Canada and the United States.
It really all began back in the third grade when young Scott Burton got the idea to present a magic show for his classmates. He loved the experience and has been on stage ever since. Scott even built a successful business in junior high school using his abilities as an entertainer.
Upon high school graduation Scott was accepted to attend the University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, MB, where in 2002 he earned a Bachelor’s degree in commerce with Honors. Using his new experiences as a youthful entrepreneur, Scott worked in the marketing and management areas for the automotive and insurance industries.
Never losing his passion for the entertainment profession, and drawing on his experiences as an athlete, plus the solid background in business, Scott embarked on becoming a full time presenter and entertainer focusing on the business world as his speciality. It did not take him long to set and reach his goals using his driving passion to become one of the top, “go-to”, business keynote speakers and trainers in North America.
Scott’s passion, like so many others is not based purely on his business. Scott’s family is equally important. He is a role model to his children Emma, currently seven years old, and his son Liam, four years old. Scott’s wife of nine years, Crystal, is a successful small business entrepreneur in her own right with a growing business of her own. The Burtons have designed their family and business life to allow them to spend time together even though Scott’s demand is high.
Scott Burton’s secret is not magic, there are no illusions, or smoke or mirrors. In his keynote address, Empowering Ourselves, his message is rather simple, to design your life around your values and passions. His career choice reflects his life-long passions and interests. His athletic training is close to home to preserve life balance.
